With a decade plus of dedicated service at Dallas Functional Dentistry, Kary stands as our longest-running team member and a true pillar of our practice. From her early days as a dental assistant to her current leadership role, she has grown alongside the practice in expanding her expertise in sleep health and understanding how to best assist our patients and referring healthcare practitioners in co-managing their sleep/airway and overall health. She loves educating our patients in every aspect of oral and overall health and truly has a servant heart. Born and raised a Texan and with many generations there, she calls Argyle home. She has been happily married to Jason, her best friend for 22 years. In her free time, she enjoys leading a ladies shooting group in Argyle and serving on the board of a local Argyle ladies league charitable organization.
Dr. McGhee grew up in Richmond, a community just outside of Houston. Her passion for dentistry started pretty young. As early as age 12, she knew she wanted to be a dentist (she even went to her 5th grade career day as one!). She attended Texas State University for undergrad, where she graduated with summa cum laude honors and first in her class. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry. Upon graduation in 2019, Dr. McGhee moved to Dallas, where she began her dental career and grew in her passion for oral-systemic health.
Dr. McGhee strongly believes that not only can your smile boost your confidence but it can also play a huge role in your overall health. This passion and love for treating the whole patient and not just their teeth, has brought Dr. McGhee to Dallas Functional Dentistry with Dr. Tevis, where oral health meets systemic health. Dr. McGhee is excited and feels so privileged to get to treat the amazing patient family at Dallas Functional Dentistry. Her warm, bubbly personality will make you feel right at home. She takes great pride in getting to know each patient personally and creating the best individualized treatment plan. She understands that dentistry is a very personal experience and takes the time to make sure each of her patients are comfortable at every appointment by working at an individualized pace and answering any and all questions.
Dedicated to expanding her knowledge, procedural skills and keeping up with dentistry’s ever changing technology and landscape, Dr. McGhee has taken 100’s of hours of continuing education and continues to expand her education. She has completed Clinical Mastery Series continuum courses with experience in full mouth rehabilitation, occlusion, anterior aesthetics, sleep medicine and TMD management. She is also currently in a 3-year journey to earn her FAGD (Fellowship in Academy of General Dentistry) and has plans to complete the program in 2028.
Dr. McGhee loves what she does and the dental community she gets to do it with and is a proud member of many respected dental organizations including:
American Dental Association (ADA)
Dallas County Dental Society (DCDS)
Academy of General Dentistry (AGD)
Spear Education Study Club
In her free time, Dr. McGhee enjoys spending time outdoors with her two dogs, Oliver (German Shepherd) and Beans (Viszla), traveling to Canada to visit her niece and nephew and adding to her Lego flower collection.
